Border Rally Sunday … watch live video here!

August 13, 2010 By: Karen Martin Category: Immigration

I’m reposting this to remind you that Sunday will be a pretty big Arizona border rally, including speakers Sheriff Joe and Robert Krantz’s wife (he was the rancher gunned down on his ranch a couple months ago).

Check back here on Sunday I plan to stream the event live here at STP.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This seems to be an event chock full of drama. Please check the links below for more info, and mark your calendars, as this will be streamed live on the Internet.

From Eric Odom:

Yesterday we had a stunning response to our announcement that the Patriot Caucus and Liberty First PAC is Co-Sponsoring the national “United Border Coalition Tea Party” on the border in Arizona.

So far, our fundraiser for the event has raised about $4,000, and we had hundreds of responses overnight from folks looking for details.

Event details are unfolding as follows:

Summary – SB1070 is a common sense law passed by the Arizona legislature that enables the state to enforce federal law on illegal immigration.

The border rally is being planned to support Arizona state as well as Arizona’s rights to pass and enforce SB1070.

1) Date – The date of the border rally is Sunday, August 15th.

2) Location – For security purposes, the location will not be immediately revealed. We can say that we have secured a large scale ranch on the Arizona/Mexico border.

The ranch is about a two and a half hour drive from Phoenix. We advise that you make your travel plans or Phoenix, and plan to make an early morning drive to the location on the 15th of August.

3) Facilities – Thanks to our fundraiser, we have secured the first $1,000 worth of portable toilets. We’re currently working to provide three times as many.

The ranch has RV hook-ups (limited) and some existing facilities. There will also be vendors providing food, beverages and plenty of cold water.

4) Security – The American Border Patrol has agreed to be present and work as our security for the event. We’ve also requested law enforcement to be present for the permitted rally.

5) Day Of – Speakers such as the famous “Sheriff Joe,” J.D. Hayworth and man others will be on site. There will be live entertainment, and organizers are working to provide hot air balloon and helicopter rides.

Main events to be held from 9:00 AM to Noon.

6) Live Online Stream – The events will be broadcast live on Ustream.

Please make plans to travel to Phoenix the weekend of August 15th. The location will be disclosed within the next few days. Watch the United Border Coalition website for final updates.

Virginia’s AG Cuccinelli rocking the sovereignty!!!

August 02, 2010 By: Karen Martin Category: Health Care, Immigration

Two news stories today about Virginia pushing state sovereignty …

Fox News headline Virginia Attorney General Rules Police Can Check Immigration Status

“It is my opinion that Virginia law enforcement officers, including conservation officers may, like Arizona police officers, inquire into the immigration status of persons stopped or arrested,” said State AG Ken Cuccinelli.

And from Gateway Pundit, Virginia Challenge of Obamacare Wins One in Court

The chief claim of Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is that the mandate to buy insurance violates the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. The federal government was attempting to have Virginia’s lawsuit thrown out with the claim that it doesn’t and should be thrown out because it is obvious that Obamacare does not violate the Constitution.

The judge, however, disagreed that it was so obvious and has allowed the suit to go forward.

August 7 Rally to Support Arizona’s Anti-Illegal Immigration Law

August 02, 2010 By: Karen Martin Category: Immigration, Tea Party

Folks I watched the live stream over the weekend of Arizona’s rally. Those courageous Americans are standing up for our nation’s security, their state’s sovereignty, and are doing the work that needs to be done. Please plan on attending the rally in Columbia this Saturday to support them. They are watching what we are doing in our states, and it’s encouraging them to continue the fight in Arizona!

The newly formed Black Conservative Movement of South Carolina will sponsor its first major event on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the state house in Columbia, SC (Gervais & Assembly Street) starting at 10:00 AM

CONTACT: Rowena Booker, SC Black Conservative Movement
Phone: (803) 445-9483

The rally is being held to express support for Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law and to show support for South Carolina bill S1446 that will allow law enforcement to ask for proof of citizenship status if that person is suspected to being in the U.S. illegally, after said person is suspected of committing a crime.

Featured speakers will include Tim Scott, Jim Pratt, and Sheri Few Congressional candidates, Charles Daley, Charleston TP Activist, and Roan Garcia-Quintana, of Americans Have Had Enough.

Rowena Booker, organizer of the Black Conservative Movement, stated, ” We oppose illegal immigration-migration, including amnesties in all of its forms, because it is not only an invasion of the United States of America, but it is blatantly racist at its very core against American Black U.S. Citizens, i.e., Emancipated Slaves. It robs us of our National Birth and Citizenship Rights Mandated under the 14th Amendment.”

SC Senator Tom Davis on SC / AZ Immigration bill

July 13, 2010 By: Karen Martin Category: Immigration, State

SC Senator Tom Davis has a piece at Islandpacket.com titled “SC should follow Arizona’s lead on immigration”

here’s an excerpt:

What does all of this mean for us in South Carolina, and how should our state legislature respond?

Well, first it should fully fund the tough illegal immigration law that it passed in 2008. Private businesses must now comply with stringent employee background checks, and this year’s budget provides $2 million to pay for the state audits that will ensure compliance.

But our state legislature has not funded the part of the law that calls for a contract between the feds and the S.C. Law Enforcement Division to provide local governments with the training and facilities to arrest and process illegal aliens. Beaufort County Sheriff P. J. Tanner, has shown tremendous initiative in this regard, but he has limited resources. The state needs to properly fund this initiative.

Finally, South Carolina’s legislature should enact an Arizona-type law to further empower local enforcement of federal immigration laws. I am a primary sponsor of such a bill (S. 1446) that was filed last May. We should not be deterred in the least by the federal government’s recent challenge of Arizona’s law. The opinions of each and every federal court decision on this issue support the authority of Arizona to enact its law. The current lawsuit is federal bullying, pure and simple.

Let Senator Davis know how much you appreciate his stand on immigration = tom@senatortomdavis.com

Then … email this article to YOUR Senator and ask him to support Senator Davis and S. 1446.

August 7 Anti-Illegal Immigration Rally in Columbia

July 11, 2010 By: Karen Martin Category: Immigration, State, Tea Party

ANTI-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION RALLY

WHY YOUR PRESENCE IS NEEDED:

TO SUPPORT: South Carolina bill *S 1446 will allow law officials to ask for proof of citizenship status if that person is suspected to be in the U.S. illegally, after said person is suspected of committing a crime. We, South Carolinians need to show our support of this piece of legislation, and push to get it ratified into law for the state of South Carolina.

TO SUPPORT: Arizona has passed a similar law, and are now under attack by the federal government for deciding to protect its citizens from the flood of illegal immigrants into its’ state, where some illegal’s commit horrendous crimes, most decrease local wages, and bankrupt Arizonans’ social systems.

TO OPPOSE: Modern Day Slavery-The illegal immigrants are being exploited due to their illegal status, and employers who hire them are participating in MODERN DAY SLAVERY. Employers who hire illegals know they can pay illegal’s less than 7.25hr and treat them badly because illegal’s are too scared file a complaint with law officials. Slavery was eliminated in the United States by the **13th Amendment, yet it still exists.
