*Action Alert* … Voter ID TOMORROW!
Tomorrow is our chance to ensure the security of our voting system!
Throughout the year, Republican activists across the state have been pushing for a simple but important bill, one that would make showing a photo ID mandatory when a person votes.
We have to have a photo ID when we drive, open a bank account, or get on an airplane – shouldnt it be required for something as fundamental to our Democracy as voting?
The state House of Representatives passed a strong bill this year. Unfortunately, despite having a substantial Republican majority in the state Senate, Republicans there could not muster enough votes to kill a Democratic filibuster of the bill.
The state Executive Committee took a strong stand in calling out those Senators, unanimously passing a resolution calling them out by name – Senators Leatherman, Knotts, Rankin and O´Dell.
WE NEED YOUR HELP – tomorrow we have a chance to push this bill past the finish line.
Call these Senators, as well as any other Republican Senators nearby, and tell them they MUST take a vote on Voter ID tomorrow.
