NJ Tea Party group attempts Senator Menendez recall

I’ve heard that it is impossible to recall Senators or Representatives, and believe me I’ve asked because I can’t bear that we have to put up with Lindsey Graham for at least a few more years! However, in this article by Liberty Chick at BigGovernment.com the Sussex County Tea Party is attempting to recall Senator Robert Menendez. It seems that:

in 1993, the people of New Jersey overwhelmingly voted to reserve for themselves “the power to recall, after at least one year of service, any elected official in this State or representing this State in the United States Congress” (emphasis added), and in 1995 made this amendment to their state constitution under Article I, 2b.

So now there is the battle of the Constitutions, and this effort is moving forward. In another column on her website, Liberty Chick notes that oral arguments on this case are schedule for this Tuesday, March 2. This may be one worth watching. If you have any legal or political background which would make you a good commentator on this court action, please come back here and comment on it for us, thanks.

Great eye for integrating what will help us in South Carolina to remove wishy washy senators.

It’s time to kick this man out! I need information on the petition so I can sign up and send to my friends and family to sign. I haven’t been able to find the paperwork. But it’s clear to my friends and myself that it is time for revolution. Wether it takes place at the voting booth or in the streets, it’s absolutely clear that if we don’t act, our country will go bankrupt. Please forward the neccessary information to sign the Tea Party petition. Thank you, Michael R. Hartline

I think the only people who can take action on this recall in NJ are NJ residents, however we should follow closely what they are doing up there.

I don’t know of any current petition, but if I come across one, I’ll post it up.

Here are sites for the specific tea party organizations you check back with:
