PR – Moore to Announce HD38
If nothing else, this is a good opportunity to see the inside of the Blue Ridge Log Cabin manufacturing facility, which we’re told is pretty cool!
PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 23 February 2010
JOHN MOORE TO ANNOUNCE CAMPAIGN FOR HOUSE DISTRICT 38
Businessman John Moore will officially begin his campaign this Thursday, February 25, 2010, at noon inside the manufacturing facility for Blue Ridge Log Cabins.В This will be open to the public and all are invited to attend.
With strong support from the Spartanburg business community, John Moore understands the need to recruit and retain quality jobs and has the experience and support to help make that happen.
In addition to economic development, Moore has pledged to listen to his constituents and take their concerns to the Statehouse.
“One of the most important things an elected official can do is to reach out into the communities they serve, and not just listen, but have a true understanding of situations which require attention,” Moore said. “It is our responsibility to put personal differences aside and work for what’s best for the people in our district.”

I think it’s great when you have citizens willing to step-up and run for public office. Everyone has the right to do this.
But tea partiers, conservative activists, and “RINO-hunters” who are just getting involved in politics now should know that District 38 is arguably the only State House district in Spartanburg County where there is NO RINO to hunt.
We got rid of the RINO in that district in 2008 and replaced him with Rep. Joey Millwood–who is a true conservative.
Millwood is one of only eight Republicans in the State House that has a pure voting record against accepting the federal stimulus monies and having that as a part of the state budget. He’s also one of the small number of Republicans I know down in Columbia that’s willing to publically state his support for allowing choice and competition in education by allowing tax dollars to follow the student to the best school for them.
I know it sounds like I’m writing some sort of “letter to the editor” here…to be honest, I have only actually talked to Rep. Millwood once at a candidate forum in 2008 and he doesn’t know who I am. I just follow local politics very carefully and believe that Millwood is one of the “good guys” down in Columbia.
I hope the conservative grassroots in Spartanburg County will focus on local races where there are actual RINO’s running who aren’t walking the walk down in Columbia I suspect that we will.
